Top 10 - Portable Exercise Equipment for Tennis

There are times when we don’t have access to a gym or tennis court. Maybe because of weather, location, or on a trip. There are tools we can use to keep our bodies’ sharp for competition. Most of these can be packed and won’t take up a lot of space. They are small but very effective training tools.

1-      Exercise Bands.

Exercise bands allow you to use resistance and do a variety of tennis movements. For example, rotation drills, squats, shoulder presses, etc…. This is also a great tool to use for pre-match warmups. The bands are reliable, compact, and a great tool to pack for everyday use.

2-      Agility Ladder

I am a firm believer in this tool. The agility ladder is great to practice footwork. It can be laid out in a room or outdoors if you have the space.

3-      Jump Rope

A jump rope is the fastest tool you can use to improve your footwork. It takes up very little space and is super effective. It is a must have!!

4-      Hurdles

Hurdles are more aggressive training tools. They take time to learn and practice to get them right. They build explosiveness ih your first step. Single leg jumps and double leg jumps are a real work out and almost guarantee improved footwork.

5-      Mini Cones

Cones are great tools to have if you have access to some space. They are great to have agility drills and using a stopwatch is great to challenge yourself to timed patterns.

6-      SK1LZ Reaction Ball

These reaction balls are awesome. You need a solid floor or hard surface and some space. There is no telling where iit is gonna bounce. Great for that first stem and hand eye coordination.

7-      Skilz reactive Catch Trainer

These fancy tools are also great for hand eye coordination. With or without a partner, toss it up and grab the decided color. Great tool for concentration too!!

8-      Leg Strength Tennis Leg Agility Training

This trainer takes some time and effort. This is portable so it meets the requirements to make the list. Great to use as vertical jumping exercises or my favorite, use it while you play tennis. It will help you stay low while you play. Great trainer!!

9-      Bouncy Sports Hoops Hand Eye Coordination Training Tool

This one is new to me but looks like something fun to try. Great for hand eye coordination. You can bounce if off a wall if you don’t have a partner. As long as you are using your abilities to play, this tool can keep you sharp. Looks fun!!

10-   TopspinPro - Tennis Training Aid,

This is a classic trainer. You can use it in you garage, in a spare room, or on the court. It is a great tool for top spin. The large wing gives you the correct path for the racquet, creating a great muscle memory swing. The ball movement is also a bonus so the player can get a visual on the contact point and feel of the shot. It’s a bit large, but still portable enough to make the list.
